Chipboard screws (also called particle-board or construction screws) use a deep, coarse, full-length thread and a thin shank to grip engineered wood without splitting it. The aggressive thread and sharp point make them fast to drive and extremely secure.
Countersunk (CSK), Oval and Pan heads with Torx, Philips and Pozi drives. Torx is recommended for high-torque powered driving. Sharp or Type 17 points reduce splitting and remove the need for pilot holes.
