When a standard screw will not do, C S Fasteners manufactures custom screws to your drawing or physical sample. Non-standard heads, drives, thread forms, materials and finishes, engineered to your performance and dimensional requirements.
Not every custom requirement needs bespoke tooling, and understanding which route yours falls into is usually the difference between a fast, affordable part and an expensive one.
| Route | What it means | Tooling | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Modified standard | A standard part with one attribute changed: a different length, finish, drive or point | Usually none | Your requirement is close to an existing catalogue part. Fastest and cheapest route |
| Made to sample | We reverse-engineer a physical screw you send and reproduce it | Sometimes | You have a legacy part with no drawing, or an import you want to second-source |
| Made to drawing | Full bespoke manufacture from your dimensioned drawing | Usually required | The geometry genuinely does not exist as a standard part |
A surprising number of enquiries that arrive as "we need a custom screw" turn out to be modified standards. If you send us the requirement rather than a part number, we will tell you honestly which route applies, including when a standard part from our existing size range would do the job at a fraction of the cost.
| Attribute | Options |
|---|---|
| Materials | Mild steel and carbon steel |
| Head profile | Any non-standard geometry, including proprietary shapes to drawing |
| Drive recess | Philips, Pozidriv, Torx, square, internal hex, slotted, combination and security drives |
| Thread | Custom pitch, lead, thread length, partial thread, dual thread and non-standard forms |
| Point geometry | Sharp, Type A, AB, B, Type 17 chip removal, dog point, cone, custom |
| Shoulder | Precision unthreaded shoulder to your diameter and length tolerance |
| Finish | Zinc, yellow zinc, black oxide, phosphate, nickel, chrome, Dacromet, Geo-met, Ruspert |
| Marking | Head marking or logo embossing on request |
See the head types chart and drive types guide for the standard profiles we already tool for, which is often the quickest starting point for a custom part.
The completeness of your enquiry determines how fast you get a firm price. To quote without going back and forth we need:
If you have a legacy part with no drawing, send two or three physical samples. We can measure and reproduce the geometry, and having more than one lets us distinguish design intent from manufacturing variation.
Custom fastener pricing is dominated by tooling amortisation rather than material. The die that forms a non-standard head is a one-off cost spread across the parts you order, which is why the same part can look expensive at 5,000 pieces and very competitive at 100,000.
Three levers reduce cost on a custom part:
Our MOQ is deliberately flexible and project dependent. We would rather run a small first order and earn the repeat business than turn away a development project.
Produce fasteners under your own brand with custom packaging and full confidentiality. This suits distributors, importers, builders' merchants and brand owners who want a reliable Indian manufacturing partner without disclosing their source to the market.
We supply in your cartons, with your labelling, your part numbers and your branding. Nothing identifies us as the manufacturer, and we do not disclose customer relationships. Details in the white-label manufacturing guide.
Flexible MOQs, full export documentation and FOB or CIF shipping worldwide. Start from our standard self tapping, machine, wood and chipboard screw ranges, or send a drawing for a fully bespoke part.
