When a standard screw will not do, C S Fasteners manufactures custom screws to your drawing or physical sample. Non-standard heads, drives, thread forms, materials and finishes, engineered to your performance and dimensional requirements.
Three routes to a custom part
Not every custom requirement needs bespoke tooling, and understanding which route yours falls into is usually the difference between a fast, affordable part and an expensive one.

A surprising number of enquiries that arrive as "we need a custom screw" turn out to be modified standards. If you send us the requirement rather than a part number, we will tell you honestly which route applies, including when a standard part from our existing size range would do the job at a fraction of the cost.

What to send us for an accurate quote
The completeness of your enquiry determines how fast you get a firm price. To quote without going back and forth we need:
- A dimensioned drawing or a physical sample. Either works. A photograph alone is rarely enough because the critical dimensions are not measurable from it.
- Material and property class, or the application if you would like us to recommend one.
- Finish, or the service environment. If you tell us the environment we will recommend the finish, which frequently saves cost.
- Annual volume and order pattern. This affects tooling amortisation more than any other factor.
- The substrate you are fixing into, especially if it is aluminium, treated timber or a moulded polymer.
If you have a legacy part with no drawing, send two or three physical samples. We can measure and reproduce the geometry, and having more than one lets us distinguish design intent from manufacturing variation.
Tooling, MOQ and what drives cost
Custom fastener pricing is dominated by tooling amortisation rather than material. The die that forms a non-standard head is a one-off cost spread across the parts you order, which is why the same part can look expensive at 5,000 pieces and very competitive at 100,000.
Three levers reduce cost on a custom part:
- Reuse existing head geometry where your design allows. If a standard pan or countersunk profile works, you avoid new head tooling entirely.
- Consolidate variants. Buyers often specify four lengths where two would serve. Fewer variants means longer runs and better pricing on each.
- Commit to an annual volume with scheduled releases rather than ordering ad hoc. It lets us plan runs and amortise tooling across the year.
Our MOQ is deliberately flexible and project dependent. We would rather run a small first order and earn the repeat business than turn away a development project.
From enquiry to delivery
- Enquiry. You send the drawing or sample with volume and finish requirements.
- Technical review. We confirm feasibility and flag anything in the drawing that will cause manufacturing or assembly problems. This step catches real issues, and we would rather raise them before tooling than after.
- Quotation. Firm pricing with tooling cost separated from piece price, plus lead time.
- Sample approval. We produce first-off samples for your dimensional and functional sign-off before the production run.
- Production and inspection. Manufacture to the approved sample with dimensional checks through the run.
- Export. Packed to your specification and shipped FOB or CIF with full documentation.
